Trained in Portrait Photography most of my images have a portrait quality- not a bear, but that bear.

Since coming to Southeast Alaska most of my work has been wildlife or landscape. Southeast Alaska is truly an undiscovered gem- breath taking and unique. Southeast Alaska is temperate rain forest; the Alexander Archipelago makes up one third the temperate rain forest in the world. There are two thousand plus islands surrounded by the Pacific Ocean in the middle of the Japanese Current. The first portion of this portfolio is about this area.

Currently I live in Wrangell Alaska having just moved from Craig AK on Prince of Wales Island. Wrangell sits just west of the Stikine River Delta. The Stikine runs 900 miles in Canada and then into the Pacific in Southeast Alaska.

Part of this portfolio contains images from the lower 48 (as it is referred to Alaska) and Mexico. Until eleven years ago I lived in Powell, Wyoming and worked as an adjunct at Northwest College in the Photographic Communications Department, surprisingly (given its location) a highly reputable professional photography program. During that time I had the good fortune to also study with George DeWolfe in his Mentoring Program.
